Jose Cuervo wrote the book on margaritas – (Literally… they invented the drink!) But Legendary brands don’t rest on their laurels. They were determined to continue their legacy in a digital world. They needed an engaging campaign, that would create buzz and loyalty, while driving sales and maybe even some R&D while we’re at it. Simple right?
The solution was giving fans a shot at creating Cuervo’s next margarita flavor and a chance to win $100,000. If you think that sounds like a pretty sweet deal you are not alone, over 40k marg fans agreed. EI designed and built what would become an award-winning interactive web experience. Inviting participants to submit their own margarita recipes using a base flavor mixed with up to 20 ingredients + their own wild card.
Just a day into the launch, we knew we had something special. Using the custom CRM solution we had incorporated into the experience we drove awareness in mass attracting video views and generating social hype.
Over 40,000 custom recipes were submitted and sales surged. The inventive approach created an immersive and enjoyable experience for users, heightened brand visibility, and effectively turned engagement into conversions.
